Traditional Start of Vacation Conjoined Head Shot by you.

We are happy when we are at the airport thinking we are about to board our plane for Buenos Aires.

Sad Flight Delayed Conjoined Head Shot by you.

We are sad at the Westin Hotel when our flight is delayed 12 hours and we lose a day of vacation.

My boss quotes someone or another and says, “Life is difficult.  It is not life’s difficulties that cause most people’s problems.  It’s their reaction to life’s difficulties.”
So, I’m trying to be a good sport.  These are high class problems, after all.  We’re at a lovely hotel.  We’re going to eat at Denny’s.  I’m with my husband and I’m always having fun with I’m with him.  Life is good.

Just a few more days

Bolsa by you.

It was too hot to grill tonight, so we went to Bolsa for some bruschetta and Spinach Salad.  Les had a burger.  Pretty good.  But in just a few days, we will be here, in our 3 store penthouse apartment.  Perhaps this time of night, we’ll be taking a  hot tub in our private rooftop jacuzzi. The hot tub is just around the corner there to the left.  On the other side of the wall is a fire place and dining area.   It’s just turning Spring in Buenos Aires, so the nights are quite cold.  Bring on the steak and malbec!

I can haz pneumonia?

Posted on August 23rd, 2008 in All This Useless Beauty,Girls Talk by Mrs. Hall

pneumonia by you.

So, I said that I was dying of pneumonia, but I was only lying about the dying part.  I actually do have pneumonia.  Bacterial pneumonia, to be exact.  Sometime during my trip last week to San Francisco, I felt my respiratory infection shift into overdrive.  Then last night, I broke out in hives.  The last time that happened, I had pneumonia.  So, I went to sweet old Dr. Seegle, who took a chest x-ray.  He pointed out my spine, my collarbone, my lungs, and noted that my breasts were in the front where they usually are.  Har, har, har.  He’s been practicing for 50 years, God love him.  Seven days of antibiotics and I should be fine, just in time to head to Buenos Aires…….

The Beautiful Bay

Posted on August 19th, 2008 in All This Useless Beauty,Motel Matches,Welcome to the Working Week by Mrs. Hall

The view by you.

It’s beautiful as ever in the San Francisco area.  The clouds are hanging low over the bay, and the light is gorgeous.  Unfortunately, I’m still dying of pneumonia, so I’m too exhausted to do anything but drop into bed at the end of the day.  No shopping, no dining… no nothing.  I’m also deaf in my right ear and my voice stopped working entirely for a couple of hours.  I am truly pathetic.  God bless the internet.  I found 100 suggestions for how to get fluid out of your ears, including candling, cupping, antihistamines, Swim-EAR, etc.  Eh?  What did you say??????

Waffley Goodness

South Dallas Waffle House by you.

Considering that I’m dying of pnuemonia, we had a pretty busy day yesterday.  We had breakfast at the Waffle House in Irving after picking up Les’ motorcycle.  Then we went and bought my car.  Then we went to a party at my boss’ house.  They bought the lot next door and built a guest house with garage, tennis court, and basketball court.  They already had a pool and a lake.  It’s kind of like being at a resort.  Everyone played tennis and ping-pong, or fished.  We left before the cannon-ball contest.  Today I’m lying low, hoping to get my voice back, especially since I’m suppose to speak for about 2 solid hours every day next week while I’m in San Francisco.

Our New Toy

It may be a lousy economy, but it’s a great time to buy a car. 1.9% financing.  Can you stand it?  We went to Grubbs Infiniti and worked with Bobby.  It was the least horrible car purchase that Mr. Hall and I have ever made.  It has lots of weird add-ons.  For instance, it beeps at you if you cross lanes.  It has a DVD player and screen, and also a back up assist.  Navigation, which I need since I have no internal compass.  And Bluetooth, since I do voice-mail for the entire 2 hours a day that I usually spend in the car.  It also has sport suspension, blah, blah, blah.  Since I never go over 40 mph, that is totally wasted on me.

While we were test driving it, I noticed that I had developed a cold, tingling sensation on my bottom.  I thought I was having a stroke or something, but it turns out that the car blows cold air at your fanny, through the seat.  What will they think of next?

izzy by you.

Thank God that Les and I never had a baby.  All we would do is stare at it, take pictures of it, and talk about how cute it is.  But seriously, this is the cutest dog I’ve ever seen.  She so small that she can curl up on a throw pillow.  OMG!!!!
