Happy Holidays on Flickr – Photo Sharing!

Christmas Tree:  Check
Mantle Decorations:  Check
Lights:  Check
Wreath:  Check

I’ve even done about half my Christmas shopping!  I wait all year for the holidays, and they’re always over too fast.  I can’t wait to be in Santa Fe, enjoying the snow, the pinon-scented fires and the red chile sauce.

Have I Mentioned That I Love Christmas?

Posted on November 30th, 2008 in All This Useless Beauty,Living in Paradise,Love Field by Mrs. Hall

Our Christmas Tree

We put our tree up Thanksgiving Weekend so that we have maximum enjoyment, right up until New Year’s Weekend.  Today we got the tree and the mantle decorations up.  Tomorrow, we’ll do the outside lights.  Les took these pictures right before Philip and Craig came over to go to dinner at Kavala.  This year, our tree has a rustic Scandinavian theme… although you can’t tell from the photos.  I have one trip to Southern California in December… and then we head off to Santa Fe from Christmas through New Year’s.  This has been the fastest year ever!

Thanksgiving Holiday Kick Off

Posted on November 25th, 2008 in All This Useless Beauty,Living in Paradise,Party Girl by Mrs. Hall

Holiday Kick Off by you.

I’m off for the next five days.  Hooray!  I came home early today and got the house party-ready for Martha and Bryan.  They came over for some champagne and grilled chicken.  We ate outside and warmed ourselves by the fire pit.  Tomorrow, we’ll pick up our Stephan Pyles Thankgiving Dinner to Go!  Our Thanksgiving plans are nothing more than extruding, heating and eating our yummy gourmet Thanksgiving feast, walking the dogs, and play with our Wii.  The good life!

You Gotta Have Friends…

Posted on November 23rd, 2008 in All This Useless Beauty,Party Girl by Mrs. Hall

Our friends put on a showing by you.

It’s so nice to have friends that are artists and so nice to have friends that love good food!  Last night, we got to hang out with both.  Our friends, Jim, Garrett, and his son Guthrie, had a showing of their work at the Hickory Street Annex.  Garrett and Guthrie do woodwork and Jim and Guthrie do photography.  It’s a beautiful space and the turnout was terrific.  Then we headed to Fireside Pies  with Amy and Dave, where we had one of our best meals this year:  Fireside Fondue, Caesar Salad, a Light ‘n Crispy Pie and a Hot ‘n Crumbled Pie (toped with Jimmy’s Hot Italian Sausage.  We finished it all off with a Triple Chocolate Brownie and some Apple Pie ala Mode.  I didn’t take any pictures because I needed both my hands for all that eating!   Today we are recovering from our food-induced comas with some hot oatmeal in front of a roaring fire.  Later, we will play Lego Star Wars on our new Wii!

Izzy by you.

Les and I were getting ready to take holiday pictures of the dogs.  We had an assortment of elf hats, blinking reindeer horns and Santa outfits.  We plan on photoshopping them into a group shot with a lovely digital holiday background for our Christmas cards.  But just as I took Izzy’s collar off, Les snapped this shot of her.  Very soulful, don’t you think?

The Rally

Posted on November 5th, 2008 in What's So Funny 'bout Peace Love and Understanding? by Mrs. Hall

The Rally by you.

Last night, Les went to Bishop Arts after the election to check out the big Obama Rally.  To quote him, it was fucking brilliant.  At work today, someone asked the receptionist how she was, and she said, “Today is the best day of my life!”  There is certainly no shortage of enthusiasm for our new President-Elect.

A Memorable Day, A Memorable Quote

Posted on November 4th, 2008 in What's So Funny 'bout Peace Love and Understanding? by Mrs. Hall

So this is floating around the blogosphere. It appears to have been said by, of all people, JayZ. Although the true source is somewhat in question.

“Rosa Parks sat, so Martin could walk… Martin walked, so Obama could run… Obama is running, so we all could fly”

Tonight is the big night. We’re having an Election Night Party. Even the Republicans that are coming voted for Obama. I agree with Bill Maher: Bush has been so awful that the American people said, “You know what sounds good? A black guy with a Muslim name.”

I hope we will be celebrating tonight.
