As it goes into May. The unseasonable cold stunted the growth of almost everything and turned the aloe brown. But it’s warmed up and it’s been wet, so things are greening up nicely now. We have an herb patch with parsley, calendula, two kinds of basil, and nasturtiums. We have a pepper and tomato patch. We have containers of rosemary, mint, basil and aloe, plus banana trees and palm trees. The front is mostly native grasses, asparagus fern and wax myrtle. I love gardening!
I have a lot more shelf space in my new digs, so I needed more stuff! I added an antique french enamel bowl from a yard sale, a buddha, and some Semikolon desk accessories in red and fuschia. I think it pops!
I haven’t been to Uncle Julio’s in forever. But I talked Les into a visit for his birthday dinner.

Died and gone…..
But I had yet another great meal tonight. I stopped at Straits in Santana Row, a Pan Asian-style chain eatery. It was a hot and happening place to be. Which meant I had no interest in actually being there.
But, I was already seated, so I had Seafood Green Curry, which was clams, mussels, octopus and fish in a jalapeno coconut curry over coconut rice. Yum. Yum. I only have one more meal out here, so I’m going to have to choose wisely tomorrow night!
I sat outside at Park Place tonight, after driving from San Francisco to Cupertino, outside of San Jose. Park Place is the restaurant at the Cypress Hotel, where I am staying. I watched some pirates playing on the grass.
Next to me, a very sexy couple spoke French, while I ate bread and butter. She had the most gorgeous little bangs.
I had a prawn salad and jambalaya sea bass. I could have licked the plate, but I didn’t want the French people to be appalled. They drank Coca-Cola for the entire hour that they sat there. I was disappointed.
I’m in San Jose for the rest of the week. I will try some new restaurants, probably in Santana Row. Watch for pictures.

Exquisite! I only wish I had room for dessert.
I woke up a wee bit over-served from the wedding. So we headed to El Jordan early on Sunday to improve my head with a little spicy Mexican breakfast, and then went back home for a nap! We got up at noon and biked over to Lake Cliff Park for the Earth Day festival. It was a beautiful, if windy, day. After stopping at Beckley Brewhouse for burgers and brats, and some more coffee, we went home and napped. I’m sure you’re sensing a theme here. Now we’re watching Appaloosa before bed. Tomorrow… off to San Francisco.
Have a happy life Christy and Daniel!
We had a great time at the wedding with Janet, David, Howard and Lisa. After the wedding receptions, we stopped off at Hatties and had coffee and desserts. Happy, happy day.
